Happy Anniversary!

Today Ryan and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary. It is actually on August 9th, but since it's a Monday we celebrated today. We have a lot going on Monday so today was a perfect day. I got two girls from my church to babysit. I needed 2 because 1 definitely wouldn't be enough!

Ryan and I had a great time! We went to lunch, walked around the mall and stopped at Dairy Queen for mini blizzards! It was nice to get away from the kids and spend some time together outside of the house.

Happy Anniversary Hunny! I love you!

Swimming

Today the kids and I met Jenna and her kids at the mall to play. Then we got lunch and then headed over to her Mother in law's house to go swimming.

The kids had fun in the pool and Keegan was able to sit in the shade for a little bit.

I debated for a few hours whether or not to put this picture on here, but I wanted to show a picture of Kamryn and this is the only one I got.. I am sure I have embarrassed myself even more than this picture by some of the things I have said in other blog posts so I am just going to do it and get it over with. Kamryn was being so cute and cuddly. She was getting really tired. Who are we missing a picture of? Jenna! Little stinker didn't send me a picture with her in it!
Fun Day! Can't wait for tomorrow...Ryan and I are actually going on a date for our 7 year anniversary!

Meet the Teacher

Today was meet the teacher day! Kade was so excited. It was a disorganized mess at the school and from what I hear it's like that every year. I was glad that I got to check out Kade's new classroom and meet his teacher. Unfortunately I had to go with all the kids by myself, I was worried that I couldn't give Kade the attention he deserved but luckily Keegan slept the whole time. Kamryn was a little grumpy so I gave her the school supplies list and by the time I got home and went to see what I did with it I couldn't find it! Here is where Kade will be sitting at school! He didn't want to leave! When we did leave he wanted to ride the bus home.

I am debating on letting him ride the bus home....what do you think?

Diary or Diarrhea

Today was a busy day! One of the first things I was surprised with was this:

(Thanks Kamryn!)
Yesterday I was telling Kade about the movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid. We were planning on renting it. Then when we were at Walmart and Kade saw a poster for the movie he said, "Mom, it's the Diarrhea movie!"

Speaking of Diarrhea when we left Walmart I heard Keegan poop. Then I got home and got him out of his seat and it was all up his back, the worst I have seen out of all my kids! I will spare you the pictures although I did send a picture of it to Ryan!

What a fun, poop filled day!

Cooking (Memory Monday)

Memory Monday

I have decided to try and look back on memories of my childhood on Mondays.

To start off I don't know if I have blogged about this, but not only do I not really like to cook, I can't cook and I hate cleaning up the mess afterwards. Plus I am a picky eater and on top of that sometimes I have a hard time eating what I cook because I either see exactly what's in it or I see the raw meat and have a hard time eating it. I have this phobia that I didn't cook it all the way through.

So just over a week ago I made cheesecake. And every time I get out the sweetened condensed milk, without fail I remember this one Sunday afternoon.

I was about 15 years old. It was a nice summer Sunday afternoon. My parents were out for a drive and I was super hungry. My mom had prepared the potatoes for funeral potato casserole (cheese potatoes). So I called my parents on the phone and asked if I could fix the casserole and start cooking it so we could eat soon after they got back home. Honestly I don't know why I wasn't with them on their drive. I loved Sunday drives. We would drive around the newer neighborhoods in the valley or just drive around. As I kid I loved to be in the car and enjoyed our road trip vacations. Anyways back onto the subject. I began to prepare the soup portion and did it just how it said to in the recipe. I cooked the potatoes and my parents got home and we sat down to dinner. I took one bite of those potatoes and knew something was wrong. But what? As we went through the recipe to see what I did wrong my mom read off, "1 can of milk" and I said. "Yeah I got a can of milk out of the cupboard." Unfortunately my mom's recipe didn't say fill the condensed soup can full of milk and pour into mixture. It just said one can of milk so I looked for a can of milk. Needless to say the entire casserole went into the garbage and I don't remember what we ate for dinner but it was probably cereal or McDonald's! So when I wrote the recipe down before I moved out I made sure to write down the actual measurement of milk, 1 cup. And now every time I or someone else in my family makes funeral potatoes they always bring up, "Remember that one time when Kami tried to make funeral potatoes?...."
