Bird Nest Easter Treats!

P1040860 I totally stole this recipe from someone else’s blog and now I can’t find it. It was somewhere on TipJunkie.com though. d I accidentally put my own twist on it. This is what you do: melt butterscotch morsels or in my case peanut butter and chocolate chip morsels (found them at Wal-Mart)  then mixed in the chow mien noodles (I think that’s what they are called) I always called them Chinese noodles growing up. Then put  blobs of them on wax paper, or if you ran out of wax paper and didn’t realize it like I did then you can use saran wrap, it works great too! Then you place some sort of candy egg in the middle. I accidentally bought the bigger eggs instead of the mini ones so I could only put one egg in mine. They are yummy!

When I googled it to find where I got it from I found an even better recipe (well it looks better, I haven’t tried it yet. But I plan to for Easter). Click here for that recipe.

Happy 6th Birthday Kade!

The night before Kade’s birthday I was telling Ryan how cool it would be to relive our memories. I would love to go back in time and relive the birth of Kade. I actually like giving birth. Of course I get an epidural and maybe that is why it isn’t much of a painful experience well at least the birthing part not after.

Kade was telling me something yesterday that was dangerous and I told him eh couldn’t do it because I didn’t want to lose another baby! He told me, “Mom, I am not a baby!” I told him that he will always be my baby. So this morning when it was time to go to school he said, “Mom you have to take me to school because I’m your baby!”

All the fun started Saturday. Due to our work schedules the only way to have Kade’s birthday present set up was to do it Saturday. So we put together his Trampoline!

 P1040861

There is a net and pad and everything but as soon as the mat was down Kade was on it! He begged to open more presents since Grandma and Grandpas came in the mail that day. So we let him pick one present. He picked a box that looked like they might be light up Sketchers….they weren’t but they were some awesome shoes!

I let him decide whether or not to go to school the next day. I had planned on the babysitter coming because I had to work Monday night but ended up getting super sick on Monday night and had to miss work. I am glad it left by morning and that so far none of the kids got it, I was pretty miserable! So anyhow since he wasn’t going to school and Ryan had to work early that morning we let him open a present that he could play the next day. He opened another present from Grandma and Grandpa Williams…

Had to have a cool outfit to wear on his birthday. It ended up getting dirty halfway through the day of his birthday so I had him open up the rest of the present from us, clothes!

P1040877 P1040878 P1040879He looks so proud of his underwear!

We went to many stores looking for the light up Sketchers that he was using birthday money from Grandma and Grandpa John and Aunts and Uncles to buy them with. I finally found them at a store near Ryan’s work. So he picked them up for us on his way to meet us at the mall so Kade could to their free Lego build and pick out his birthday present from our friends the Dunn’s. They left him a gift card at the Lego store to buy something of his choice. He had a hard time deciding what he wanted! I will have to post a picture of the new Sketcher shoes soon! He LOVE them!

Then we met up with the Dunn’s and Burningham’s at Red Robin for dinner. It was crazy but it was nice to see everyone and Kade was happy to see his friends! The Burningham’s gave Kade Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie (which is his favorite as of late) and a Cars book that is for beginner readers. He walks around quoting it and even wants to do his hair like the wimpy kid!

Looking back

I haven’t slept well lately. I have been up late thinking about Kooper, thinking of all these things I haven't done that I have wanted to do for him or things I want to do in his memory which I have posted about before(but that’s for another post). The other day I was going through some old photos on the computer and I came across these…P1000427 P1000428 P1000430

Ryan’s co-workers through him a baby shower on June 17, 2008. (Exactly 1 year to the date that Kamryn was born. I just noticed that as I looked at the date on the picture). He brought home a bunch of presents including this bag full of baby stuff with the balloons attached. Kade had a ball with it and he even got a toy out of it (the toys surrounding the bag). He pretended he was Curious George. I can’t believe how little he looks! I wish I could go back in time and change how things ended up.

Many of Ryan’s co-workers were so good to us and still are, especially during that hard trial with were faced with. He was lucky to have such good support at work. I got time off after having Kooper to recover from his birth but Ryan didn’t get 8 weeks like I did he had to go back to reality much sooner. He had people there that were caring and kind to him during such a hard time for our family. I am so grateful for them.

Random pictures from March

P1040684 P1040709 P1040712 P1040722Keegan dropped his bottle for Kamryn’s sippy cup. So switching from bottle to sippy doesn’t seem like it will be much of a problem.

P1040733Kade has a new room! Just kidding. This is my parent’s kennel for their horse dog Harley.

P1040735Think it might be  a little bright during naptime? Whenever I have gone to wake Kamryn up from a nap I find her with the blanket over her head. She has a big girl bed now that we will move her into as soon as we find/get a bottom mattress for the trudle because it’s high off the ground and we don’t want her to fall off at night and hurt herself!

 P1040845

Keegan’s new shoes. He hasn’t like to wear any of the shoes I have tried on or actually bought and returned because they are too hard on the bottom. So I decided to order some cute Pedipeds for him. Kamryn had a pair that she wore all the time and I loved them. Keegan hasn’t even tried to pull them off yet and it’s been almost a week. P1040848 P1040849

This little man is growing up too fast. In this picture he was clapping (which he just started doing) and then today he crawled up to one of the small chairs and started pushing it around while walking and then pushing the Buzz bike thing of Kamryn’s around while walking. He was also getting his second tooth in this picture! Look at those rosy cheeks. Yep the little guy has 2 teeth now. i am surprised since Kamryn only had 1 barely on her first birthday.  He also like to dance/bounce to music. So funny!

Last day of spring break at the zoo

So Saturday my parents left back to Utah . I am sad they are gone and can’t believe that we have to wait until Summer to see them again. We had lots of fun while they were here. Here are a few from their recent visit. They brought their dog Harley. He is such a funny dog.

I have been contemplating getting a pass to a museum or something that I can take the kids to do when they really just need to get out of the house especially as the school year is getting closer to being over I definitely need to have some ideas for Kade to keep him busy. So we went to the local Zoo and Aquarium to check it out.  I know next time we go to wear tennis shoes!

 P1040822 P1040825

I loved the baby porcupine! At first there were just two adults sitting there and then some food was dropped off by the zookeeper and out came the baby from hiding! (I wonder what they call baby porcupines?)  P1040827

They have a log ride (similar to Lagoon for those that have been only there isn’t a line here) that Kade wanted to go on sooo bad. He met the height requirements to go alone and he wanted to go alone. I didn’t really want to get wet or spend another 6 dollars for myself to go so he went all by himself. Ryan heard a few people say, “I can’t believe they are letting their kid go by himself.” Well he wanted to and he met the requirements. I think it’s good to test of independence.  Ryan and I were a little worried that he would get scared, especially when it started it’s climb to the top of the boat ride but he had a lot of fun and wanted to go again. I wasn’t willing to fork out another 6 dollars for him to go again.

P1040828He is soo excited to go!

 P1040829 P1040832 P1040833

We didn’t spend much time in the aquarium because I needed to go home and rest up. I had to work that night. So here are a few pictures of us in the aquarium. I didn’t get pictures of us touching/petting stingrays…maybe next time!

  P1040841P1040842

When it was time to go we decided to buy a pass. It is nice and close to our house so we can go for short periods of time and not feel rushed and not feel bad if one of the kids just isn’t wanting to be there we can go and it’s a short ride home. Can’t wait to take the kids and see the whole aquarium next time.
